THROW-IT-BACK THURSDAY Ep#7
Welcome to the 7th installment of ‘THROW-IT-BACK THURSDAY’!
(1 song from the back catalogue every week for a year)
This week :
‘epilogue’
[from the album ‘sleepdust‘, 2010]
An existential dream? Or a waking reflection? You decide.
This is a very Eno-inspired track and I love its utter simplicity. Of all the material in my catalogue, I chose this to be my 3rd video, and if you watch it, you’ll see why.
On the video:
“(It’s made of) bits and pieces from old films and footage shot on the iPhone.
The kites were being flown one day at the beach by a man who tied them down and launched each one until he had about 6 or 7 in the air at once. It seemed even at the time that they were in slow motion, so i just enhanced the dream-like quality a bit more.
2 years later, I happened to be down at the beach again, and there were the kites… I introduced myself to the man and told him about my little video. I owe it all to him, so here is thanks to Steve Polansky, the kite man.
